Interaction SIP Station™ by Interactive Intelligence wins Network Products Guide’s “Reader’s Trust Award”

2010-07-30

IP phone replacement device honoured with a “Reader’s Trust” 2010 Best Products and Services Award in the voice over IP category.

Network Products Guide, an online information technology research and advisory guide, has named the Interaction SIP Station™ by Interactive Intelligence a winner of its “Reader’s Trust” 2010 Best Products and Services Award.

The Interaction SIP Station™ is a communications device that replaces IP desk phones. The device won the award in the category of voice over IP (VoIP) by receiving a majority of reader votes. A total of about 2,000 readers participated this year across all award categories.

“The Interaction SIP Station™ earned our reader’s trust by bringing to market a cost-effective, reliable, and easy-to-use alternative to IP desk phones,” said Network Products Guide editor-in-chief, Rake Narang.

At roughly half the price of an IP desk phone, the Interactive Intelligence Interaction SIP Station™ was designed for reliability and simplicity -- no display, dial pad, or handset -- without sacrificing features.

The product uses a standard headset and works in conjunction with the Interactive Intelligence Interaction Client®, a call-control software application that includes sophisticated features, such as call recording, transfer, conferencing, presence management, company directory look-up, queue monitoring, and more.

Interactive Intelligence also designed the Interaction SIP Station™ to address reliability issues associated with the use of USB headsets and softphones, which can result in latency and jitter when they compete with CPU cycles. It bypasses these issues by using a dedicated chip-set for audio processing.

“Many vendors are trying to push more and more functionality into increasingly pricey IP phones,” said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO, Dr. Donald E. Brown. “With their small displays and complex keypad sequences, we decided instead to offer a reliable, low-cost device that makes use of advanced telephony features in a desktop software application. Our customers love this alternative and have listed Interaction SIP Station™ benefits ranging from lower costs and improved voice quality, to space-savings and reduced training.”

Now in its third year, the Network Products Guide’s Best Products and Services Award honours solutions that represent the rapidly changing needs and interests of the end-users of technology worldwide.
